my four weeks challenge

How many times did you spend your weekend at home waiting for someone to invite you to do things? I can bet each of us had this kind of situation at some point in our life.

On one hand it feels so comfortable staying home and waiting for something good comes to your life. Yes, it feels very comfortable for a period of time. One weekend is gone, another one is approaching and you don't have plans again, and nobody is inviting you anywhere, and watching a whole season of popular TV-show seems not attractive anymore, doing nothing and browsing the Internet also become boring....

The false comfort turns into a discomfort and very negative feelings of loneliness, feeling not good enough, boredom, constant worrying, stress and so on. All you want is actually to go out, meet people and have fun! I remember that time in my life. It was tough, but I learned a lot from that period and it made me actually stronger.

A new thing that I am doing today is...

I love hiking! I can say that I am very experienced hiker, hiked many trails in the U.S. and outside of the country. Some of my friends have asked me to invite them next time I am going on a hike. I know, it's a very short notice, but I would like to invite those of you who do not have any plans on coming Saturday to go hiking with me. Take this chance now! You can come alone or with your friends.

So, how is this thing new to me? Well, I've never organized hiking for a group of people. This is going to be my first time as an organizer of a day-trip.

Yes, it is a very short notice, but we actually do not have time to postpone it. We can not procrastinate on fall foliage! ;) The fall is coming to New York City. And now it is a perfect time to see fall colors. The weather is going to be amazing on Saturday! 68°F (20°C) and sunny. So, please, come, join me!

One day trip from New York for Hiking in Cold Spring

We are going to a little town, Cold Spring, NY, which is tucked off the Hudson River. It is one of my favorite places, and I think the place has the best hiking trails near New York, especially if you don't have a car. It's perfect destination for a weekend getaway from New York City. The views are stunning over there! Pictures on the page are from the last spring trip. Can you imagine how beautiful the scenery will be in fall colors?!

my four weeks challenge We will take Metro-North Hudson line train from Grand Central.
Subways: 4, 5, 6, 6, S to Grand Central.
Approximate travel time: 1h 20 min.
Cost: $26.50 round-trip.

Please, let me know if you're interested. You can leave a comment in a comment box below or send me a personal message, if you have my number, please feel free to contact me via phone.

Ideally, I expect to have a group of 3-4 people, it can be a bit lees or more. Considering the activity level with ideas for new 'things to do before turning thirty' from my previous post, tells me that it is very possible that I am going to hike alone, which is also fine. It's not my first time go hiking and exploring places on my own. I will enjoy it no matter what!

I'll post more details by the end of the day.

Here is the update:

If you want to join me on a hiking, you, please, let me know by 7pm tomorrow, October 17th. We'll take a train that leaves Grand Central at 8:43am. We'll meet at the Grand Central. I'll give my number (if you don't have it) to those people who is coming.

What to bring: Please, bring food, snacks and water fort the whole day. There are some coffee shops and restaurants in the town. We might stop by on the way back, but from my experience, there is no time for that.

Please do not forget to bring your positivity for the day, your openness to meet new people and have fun!

Update: 10/17/2014 7:25pm

organize hiking That's it! Time is gone. ;)

I don't like to be negative either saying that I failed with organizing a day trip, or looking for any excuse such as 'it was a very short notice'. No! I've tried to organize, I did my best. I've learned few things from this experience and it actually feels very good to try. Better than doing nothing. I am not giving up on organizing!

I would like to say even more.

New Yorkers, I am so happy that each of you have some plans for tomorrow. It's great! And if you are not joining me tomorrow, then I am joining you! You can't get rid of me so easily! See you in the city tomorrow! Change of plans is always a good plan, and tomorrow is going to be more awesome than I'd planned!

If for some reasons your plans will change, or maybe you were too shy to contact me (please, don't be next time, I don't bite) and still don't have plans for tomorrow, take actions now, go out, enjoy this beautiful weather!

I'll give you an idea where you can go tomorrow for a new experience. There is a Korean Food Festival on Times Square. Today it was awesome! It is still on for tomorrow. You can try different kind of Korean Food for free. If you have never tried it, it is a great chance to do it. Honestly, it's one of my favorite cousin. But the festival is not all about food. There are some performances on the stage. I've watched 'Super Stick' band. It's a band of drummers, these guys are doing really interesting things. They flew from Korea just for the festival. They'll perform at 11:30am and 1:30pm. So, go, try, explore, enjoy it!

And if you're lucky enough ;) you'll see me there on the day 4 of my challenge. But it's not the only plan for tomorrow. Stay tuned!
